RE: Dumbest thing you've done in the deer woods

Ran over my bow. Layed it down when I got to my vehicle, climbed behind the wheel just to rest, forgot about the bow and took off. I dusted it off, and it was ok. Bent my sights and a few arrows, but...

RE: Sentimental things in the woods...

I have a "touch stone" that was given to me by my daughter. It is oval, about the size of a half dollar, red, polished, and inscribed with a buffalo. It rides in my left pants pocket. I've never been...

RE: plat book for wisconsin hunting zones?

Yes, in wisc they're by county. Contact the county land records office. One book contains all the land in a county, and they're about $20. Many countys in wi have on line GIS maps where you can...

What I Had For Supper Last Night

I set my cast iron dutch oven on the stove, medium heat. Melted a T of bacon grease in it. Took a shoulder blade roast, rubbed it with seasoning salt, browned it in there. Added most of a beer,...

RE: Where are the Benoits?

I wonder how many remington pumps and autos have been sold over the years because of the Benoits. Millions, no doubt. I wonder if they ever made any money off of that. I was even on the bandwagon for...

RE: grind my own?

Yes go for it. I just use a low end electric grinder, I think it cost about $70 about 20 years ago. It works as well today as the day I bought it, has had roughly 800 lbs of meat through it.

RE: boy some bow hunters just make me sick

In WI, the season dates are set about right, they won't change anyway. I'd like to see antler restrictions across the board, and unlimited free antlerless hunting statewide. Earn a buck sucks: 1. It...
