Which calibers would you have if you could have them all?
Well.... I guess I'd have all of them!

I hear a Queen song playing somewhere.... must be that new Chase commercial again...

I guess to play along, I'd say that if there is one caliber that I'd really like... it woudl acctually be a gauge. I'd like to be the first guy on the block to have a 24 or 32 gauge double gun. The 24 for doves on days I'm feeling brash, and the 32 for pen raised quail when I'm feeling too good for a 28, but not good enough for a .410.

Which calibers would you have if you could have them all? What would be your ideal arsenol?
I already own all the calibers that I want to use, and I have tried many more that didn't suit me. My "keepers" are 22 lr, 22-250, 30-30, 270 WCF, 308, 9.3x62. Not that I intend to, but I could hunt the world with the calibers that I have chosen.

Anything? Well...

22lr
22mag
223
308, in bolt-action, M60, and Mk24
30-06 in a WW2-BAR
7mm-08
7mmRemMag
50 BMG, no Rifle that shoots the round, but an actual BMG!
A Mk19 and plenty of grenades
4 pound naval coastal battery gun
M61A1 Vulcan and 5 truckloads of 20mm

That oughta do it...

I also have all the calibers I require for hunting or target shooting but a nice 221 Fireball , 22-250 or 220 Swift would be perfect to finish my list...

.22 - Small game
6.5x55 Swede - Smaller Big Game (Deer, Goats, etc)
.35 Whelen - Big Game (Moose, elk, etc)
.375 H&H - It's a classic, what can I say

And...throw in a .257 Bob, 7x57 Mauser, 300 Savage, and a Remington 7600 in .308

I'm pretty well set, couple 22's, couple deer rifles, couple shotguns, 22 pistol, 357 revolver.... If I could just dream up another gun to have it would be a vintage model 99 featherweight carbine, .308, clip fed, with folding tang peep sight. Then I would really have a hell of a time deciding what to take in the woods with me on any given day.

Just to get by I need
four good varmint rifles - 2 in .204 Ruger and 2 in 22-250

four decent Big game rifles 1 in .300 Win mag, .260 Rem, .270 WSM, .308 in various weights and configurations.

at least one auto loader 12 ga. and one auto 20 ga.

and a whole gaggle of "in betweens" to fill in all the gaps.
