where do you set up

if you're hunting a new spot that you really havnt scouted extensively, do you prefer to spend a lot of time looking for well used trails or do you just look for a location that you think the deer...

theres quite a few ducks here in north texas. they're not being very responsive to calls or decoys though. big flocks are flying by really high and not even looking at the dekes.

ok this is the scenario...
we scouted last weekend, and found a cove with TONS of ducks. the cove faces to the south(opening is to south), and the wind was blowing from the north, but not very hard....

in texas you have to take the bowhunter safety course to hunt public land, and for a lot of the draw hunts on the wildlife preserves and such, you have to qualify on a 3-d range, but im not sure...

for the hunters ed question, it depends on where you are hunting. if its private land then you dont need hunters ed, but most public land in texas requires it....

it seems to me that a lot more things are legal in texas than anywhere else...
maybe thats why our deer suck. we're allowed to use crossbows almost anywhere during gun season.

hmm my only concern is that i havnt shot my broadheads before, because i dont have a broadhead target, and my parents are too cheap to buy one, so i dont really know how they fly with the broadheads.
