Totally Disgusted!!!!!!

I was in the woods early Sunday morning and what I found made me sick to my stomach.
While looking around for a new spot to hunt I came across some deer carcuses 1 buck 1 doe about 20 yards from each other both where double lunged.
But what really made me sick was that the rack on the buck was hacked off and both deer where left there nothing else was taken.
Why would any one go out and shoot deer and only take the rack.
I am guessing it was someone who does not a licence (Poacher).
I did call the ranger and met him at the parking area and took him to the downed deer.
He is going to start patroling the area and checking every vehicle he sees there for vehicle hunting permission tags. This area is public land but you must have a vehicle tag which is free but you must have a hunting licence and hunter safty card to get the vehicle tag.
I sure would like to come across this moron in the woods.

ausie - guy - I AGREE WITH YOU. 2 YEARS AGO I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY FARM. SO I DECIDED THAT I WOULD SIT AND WAIT FOR THEM FOR WHEN THEY RETURNED. THEY EVEN GOT SO BOLD THAT I FOULND ONE OF THE GUYS IN MY TREE STAND. WELL THAT DID NOT SIT RIGHT WITH ME AT ALL. I TOOK MATTERS INTO MY OWN HANDS AND THE PROBLEMS STOPPED. I THINK IT HELPS THAT THE DNR OFFICER IS ONE OF MY BETTER FRIENDS.

This is not the first time I heard of this. Everyone on this forum needs to get together and catch the people who do this nonsense. It makes me sick to my stomach. Lets keep our eyes and ears open and turn in everyone who likes to poach illegally, and call the game commission when you suspect or see anything like this. Iam glad you called the Game Commission Ausie-guy. I hope they catch who ever is doing this.

Okay, I can understand a poacher taking the buck and cutting off the rack, but why the doe? Since he's not taking the meat home, you think he just enjoyed the act of killing?

Yea, it's the work of an idiot. The weekend before last years gun season opener, I went out pheasant hunting with my golden and he found a site that caused me much distress. At the end of a weed strip between cut-out soybeen fields, Chancy found four deer, one buck, three does, two of them really small. All were shot and killed by slug. The backstraps and the hind-quarters missing from all. I was sickened, saddened and furious all at the same time. This also on public land, I stopped at the DNR check station and let them know were they were located. This DNR property doesn't allow antlerless permits and all were shot out-of-season. The property manager assured me they would keep the area under watch, but I doubt the jerk(s) responsible would be stupid enough to come back. Or would they?
Indiana DNR has a program in place as many do. It's called T.I.P., Turn In Poachers. PLEASE everyone: turn-in any un-ethical hunters, poachers and any obvious illegal findings where ever you hunt.
These kinds of actions by degenerates need to be addressed or our hunting rights and opportunities may be affected.

While out this weekend scouting in an area that was closed to hunting (on the military base some areas are closed to hunting while troops are in the area) I met a guy. He says he was scouting but he had a bow with him....I put a call into the game wardens to give them the tip ....ya know...to be on the safe side. Gonna suck to be him!

Where did you find those deer? I live in Ft. Wayne and pheasant hunt quite a bit at the Huntington Resevoir. 3 out of the last 5 years I have found 3 groups of 4 deer poached. They had the backstraps and hind quarters cut out. I reported it to the CO's there but I'm sure they never caught the people.
