I have killed many deer with mine using 70gr Speer SSP handloads. I wouldn,t use it on big deer,and it does have its limits as do all guns.It,s really done the job thought and on a lot of wild hogs...

Read your thread,and i thought,why not try the 209M primers. They are the same size but made for magnum loads in shotguns,in the 3" and 3 1/2" loads. I bet you will find a difference. vangunsmith:eek:

I think the reason is,is that the 338-06 is already here and one section of the public seem to want the "shorter' style powerful bullets. why they have to be shorter is beyond me,except for some guys...

Rootsy is right,but remember when and if you reload and i assume you do,just because Hodgons owns IMR and the numbers haven,t changed, DON,T get mixed up with H numbers and IMR numbers. Like 430,4831...

Barnes now days only makes a 220gr RN solid in the 30 cal. Sierra bullets do makea 220 grHPBT Match King,and a 220gr RN,and a 240 gr HPBT Match bullet. hope i helped you some. vangunsmith;)
