Default 6.5x55 swede

i saw a carl gustav or carl something 6.5x55 swede today. it had a beautiful blonde leopard looking stock. it didn't have any scratches in the stock or in the blueing. it was an absolutely great looking gun. it had a scope mounted but it looked like it was just a cheap tasco. other wise it was a great looking gun. plus the price was only $440. sound like it would be worth it??? i doubt i'll buy it but it's just something to think about. they also had a very nice savage 99 in .308 that was in good condition but it was over $500.

I have a couple of those and they are great shooters and it is a great caliber. When I bought mine they were pretty cheap so I don't know what would be a fair price now. Thats a pretty good price on the Model 99. Depending on condition. They go fro. 350 to 800 at different shows That I have been to.

$440 soundsVery high unless it was carefully bedded in a really nice stock and not just a military stock that has been hacked down. The standard unaltered military rifles sell for around $250 on up these days and are better made than anything that costs less than $1000 today. A cutdown sporterized rifle unless it was done very well is worth significantly less than an unaltered militaryrifle.
