RE: Tikka T3 or Weatherby Sub MOA

I looked at a T3 for quite awhile, but never shot one. I went with my first choice a Weatherby SubMOA .30-06. I believe all the sub moa's come with the pachmayr recoil gel recoil pads and are quite...

RE: AR-15

Depends on what you are looking for. If you want to fire off a lot of rounds and have an assult type rifle, you can get a new Romanian AK for less than $300. 7.62x39mm rounds.

I'd have to say...

Found a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with the keys in it on my land in the middle of nowhere a couple years ago...so I took that.

RE: Caliber for son's first deer rifle?

Where does it say he's buying a .243? Several people suggested it, but he hasn't replied since the original post. A .243 isn't a beginner rifleis all I'm saying. A .22 is a beginner rifle. A .243 is...

RE: Buying My First Gun

I believe if you are set on a 270 pump your choices are pretty limited. If you went with a semi-auto you could have another choice or two.

I can't shoot deer in Iowa with a rifle, well for a week you can with a special permit. I would like to use th 165 Fusions on an Antelope hunt next year.

RE: Caliber for son's first deer rifle?

You know what I really think? age makes no difference. If a .243 kills a deer and is plenty of gun for a 11-12 yr old. I think at age 55 that same .243 is going to kill a deer just the same. There is...

RE: .270 or 30-06?

The .270 is a great round and has a ballistic advantage over the 30-06 with lighter bullets...although not a lot. For an "all around" gun, I would go with the 30-06.

For those of you who reload the .223 what is your cost per round excluding time of course for.

I would have to tell you to shoot sabot slugs and rifled slugs both and see how they react to your gun. When it comes to slugs every gun "picks it's own." Buy several brands and sizes try them all.

Buy several brands and see what shoots the best through the barrel. The barrel will tell you which brand it likes best. It may be the most expensive slug made or the cheapest.

RE: Ruger .44mag

I have a 686 S&W in .357, but I definately favor the Ruger in a .44 mag from my research.

The Super Redhawk with 7.5 barrel is a fine piece steel and is what I'm leaning toward.
