It takes all kinds to make the world go round, fellas. In their own way, they're a check and balance on animal welfare, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

We'd all agree that there are businesses/research facilities that are taking unnecessary liberties with certain animals, and these are the people that sniff it out. Sure,a lot of themhate us, and aim to end hunting as we know it, but we're only fooling ourselves if we think there's even a snowball's chance of that ever happening. Also, as long as I'm alive and ticking, there will always be a market for fresh beef andgrilled chicken. I'm sure the same goes for a lot of you guys, too, so they won't be putting many cattle farms out of business anytime soon.

Let's not get all spun up about these people, because they do serve a useful purpose. They do help preserve endangered species and protected species, and they help bring awareness to poaching and illegal whaling/fishing, etc... They also help push the envelope with vegetable-based food products, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, either. I admit it - I keep some boca burgers in the freezer for when I feel like eating healthy. They're not so bad with some A-1.

As hunters, we've all probably forgotten more about animal welfare and animal suffering than the vast majoritythose people would ever know. We see more of mother nature in one week than they see in an entire lifetime.Despite that, they see us as a bunch of knuckle-dragging neanderthals, which is their prerogative. Luckily, these aren't the people making decisions with regard to wildlife management - instead, it's trained professionals with a deep-rooted understanding of our ecosystems.

Look, I'm as liberal as anyone, and even the most hardline libs look at these people as psycho extremists, that make up such a small percentage of the party that effectively makes them a non-factor. They aren't really a threat to anyone or anything. 90 Percent of their donations come from a bunch of women who feel bad for teary-eyed little puppies in kill shelters. That's their meat and potatoes, so as long as they desire to stay financially solvent, they'll have to devote a large percentage of their intake to the welfare and preservation of domestic animals, instead of wasting their bankroll battling hunters.

They know they'll never touch us, and that's what drives them insane.

Sure, they've had their victories (hunting bans for certain species, certain wildlife preserves, certain metro areas, etc...)but if you look at all of those situations, the bans/restructuring of the laws weren't spurned by pressure from the anti's, but instead by common-sense legislating. I think we'd all agree that there should be a few preserves set aside from hunting, and there are certainly some residential areas where certain types of hunting should be limited. It's not rocket science or voodoo.

Trust me, these people aren't a threat. Look at them, they're crazy as bats, and not even their own party takes them seriously.
