RE: 270 or 30-06

I would say the .30-06

It has a wider range of available weights, allowing more adjustability.

RE: JeffB (or anyone), tell me about the Trap Door...

I put a 2003 LR model on my LX about a month ago. So far so good. It has a plastic-like launcher arm that is very quiet when drawing a carbon across it. Sensitivity is adjustable depending on...

RE: Want to do my own serving. What do I need?

You don' t need a serving jig to do peep servings. Thats done by hand.

In order to serve cables & center serves you' ll need
1. A press to relax the string slightly (a string separator could...

They use silicone from the factory. Its holds, yet is pliable enough to keep its strength even under vibrations caused by shooting.

RE: Peep Tubing for ALightment.. HOW LONG?

Long enough so it goes taught at full draw but not too short as to cause extra stress on the string at full draw. Usually 8-10" is close.

Do you mean regular rem oil with the yellow cap or rem dri-lube in the black cap? The dri-lube contains teflon and would stay put much better and last longer.

I don' t think that it helps that much, but if you want to line up the blades try getting nylon washers. They give enough play when tightening the head to allow alignment most of the time.
