22 yd, severe quartering away shot (arrow exited right behind left front shoulder) at last light. 9-point buck ran about 40 yards and piled up. 200+ lbs on the hoof. BIG 'UN for North Carolina!

Got my bow back quick, and had a GREAT season with it so far! Cull buck (lots of meat, no rack to speak of), decent doe, and a BIG 9-pointer (lots of meat, LOTS of rack!...pictures soon).

Quickie Quiver - it holds the arrow shaft in 2 places, and nothing touches the broadhead. Still have to check them when you get up in the tree, though!!

Thanks everyone. Turns out the rest seems to have been installed incorrectly. Different bowshop today (MUCH closer to home) reworked it. Much better now, but still some fine-tuning to do.

It's 60 degrees here in NC, and the wind is blowing 15 mph w/gusts to 30 mph. 2 buddies hunted yesterday (much less wind), and said they saw (and shot) bucks trailing does...so it sounds like the rut...

Forget the concerns about the location....40 acres to hunt, surrounded by many other acres not to hunt. Suburbs to say the least.....county residential w/no risk of joggers, etc.

I use a small trailer to pull my 4-wheeler. It's a lot easier to get deer into that than it is into a truck bed (especially if said deer is already on the 4-wheeler!). Usually I just drag him/her...

Blaze orange dots and 3-d targets can't smell or hear and rarely try to jump out of your way. I can smoke targets at 40 and 50 yards, but too much can go wrong with a live animal at those distances....
