Maybe I need to go heavier. I am shooting 27" Easton Nano's(428gr.) at 303fps with 89# KE and 14% FOC. I used to shoot 445 gr. arrows but the shop got me into these new arrows[:-]

It really depends on what you consider light, fast, heavy, slow.
Your numbers to me are semi heavy and semi fast, not heavy and slow. Maybe remain the title, semi heavy. [8D]
Heavy, now go up over 550 grains and slow, down to let's say 240 fps. It's about FOC, matched sets (arrows/bow), more than adequate fletch and tuning.
Seriously Don, congrats on the setup, I bet it kills the deer as dead as last years setup.

I don't think any of that stuff matters. My 52 year old father hunts with a browning bow from the 80's, and he's shooting aluminums and has no problem knocking them down.
DEAD is DEAD
With that said, I shoot theeaston axis 400 grainwith nanotube technology.

Okay gang...help me understand FOC. Front of Center, I presume...but how do you measure the % that is FOC, and what % FOC should you have??
Since hunting boars a few years ago, I've really liked heavier arrows. 285 fps w/my BowTech Tribute (480 +/- grains). Easton 300's (some say they don't make them anymore...???).
Thanks!

I am a bit of a simpleton,I need pictures.[8D]
I thought you might have been headed in that direction but I can never tell with you.
3/30=.1x100=10%
