If I'm sitting when the deer shows up I shoot that way. If I see him coming and can get up I do. I shoot both ways all year long so it is comfortable both ways for me.

I use both. I shoot alum. out of my indoor target bow @ 50 lbs. Pse carbons for hunting. I have never found the carbons to group as well but it's such a small differance it is moot in a hunting set...

I do also but was just hanging stand and stepping into it to set it before I put straps on. FWIW, a chain has a much higher working load rating than nearly any strap depending on size.

Thanks folks. I use a LifeLine brand( I think). It's just prucics(sp) cord on a rope. I strap in at the top of my tree. Most of my stands use straps but a few of my old ones have chains.
