The 7600 comes in 1 action size and has a spacer in the magazine for "short action" cartridges such as the 243.

Winchester M64

I posted this in a couple of other forums.

Ilooked at a Winchester 64 today and liked what I saw. This had a hooded front site, 32 Special, 1/2 magazine, was said to be built in 1949, and in...

I know you said you like and wanted another 243 but may I suggest a Ruger #1-A in 7x57. Open sights, classic cartridge, and good killing reputation. Something you'd have fun with and is nice to look...

RE: Am I just being to picky?

I don't think you are being picky but will the shop take it back? The shops I deal with allow an inspection in the store but once out the door there are no returns unless something is broken.Good luck

RE: Remington 7600

$525 is the going rate for new 7600s here in northern Maine. Great gun that oftentimes gets little respect. I'd guess that detemining if it is a good value is based solely on you. My 7600s have shot...

7600 Carbine

RE: Good Cheap Rifle For Elk and Deer

Our local Wal-Mart is selling Remington 700 ADL for $289. These have a 24 inch barrel, recoil pad, no sights, matt finish, and a synthetic stock. They had them in 243, 270, and 30-06. Seemed like a...
