Yup the 7600 was what I was going to mention. Isn't the 760 a pump action too? Or is it not?

The 760 is no longer made. It was replaced by the 7600. The 7600 can be had in short or long action cartridges.

Browning used to make a BPR in 243 win which was a short action pump . It was discontinued for lack of interest .

The 7600 comes in 1 action size and has a spacer in the magazine for "short action" cartridges such as the 243.

thanks portage, but can you say why no one makes a true short action pump, such as the bolt and lever short action.
