Have a chance to buy a 7600 Remington in 35 whelen at a very good price.
I have never owed one and the only one I have been around was very abused.
Any pro's and con's. Is the accuracy acceptable.(1 1/2 to 2" at 100yrds)
Thank for any help

I have owned a number of 7600s but not a 35 Whelen. Very under rated rifle in my opinion.
Pros
Accurate all of mine shot 1.5 inches orless
Reliable
Light weight
Cons
Poor trigger
I have heard the recoil of the 35 Whelen is stiff.
Doesn't fit all people well.
If it is a good deal and something you want, I'd jump on it.

IMO it's one of the better guns Remington has designed and produced. It's capable of excellent accuract (1MOA is possible) and is a very strong action. I'm surprised Remington hasn't chambered it to the magnums as well.

I think the 7600 / 35 Whelen combo is near perfection. I have hunted with the 7600 in 30-06 and the recoil very managable. I do not like shooting magnums at all but I feel based on the 06, I could handle the Whelens recoil. This would definatly be my gun in grizzly country. Power to spare and fast seconds, and third shots, if required.
