Sure, 7600's are decent guns. But that one sounds a little overpriced to me.

I have hunted deer (and the occasional woodchuck)with this rifle for the past 15 years. Nothing wrong with with the rifle at all. The7600 is not near as popular as bolt actions or even single shoot rifles. I shoot hand loaded balistic tips (130 grain) and produce good size groups at 100 yards. Check the following linksto compareprices.

This spring I bought a Browning Gold NWTF 10 ga. from Wallyworld. I looked all over including online auction sites like gunbroker.com as well as all the sporting goods stores in Michigan. Walmart was $50 cheaper than the next lowest price I could find. Someone even told me that our local sporting goods store occasionally buys from them for resale when they are in a pinch for inventory. I ordered the gun from walmart.com and it was delivered to our local store. No problems.

James may be right. I was pricing 7600 synthetics around here for 360 on sale. But the walnut does go for a little more.

At Basspro they told me not to get guns from Walmart because they use second hand wood and metal. Is this true or were they blowing smoke?
