Don't forget the apple! I tried to substitute with a PB&J and had poor results. Also you can use a standard "claw hammer" if you do not have a ballpeen available.

Good luck. I know what you meen about being worn out. THe bow season starts in early OCT here in FL and ends NOV 11th. Then ML Nov 16-18, Then gun Nov 19th-Jan 31st. The rut starts in mid jan here....

Vabowman, I would call the local game warden and ask. I think you will find that you can use your bow, but have to follow the gun restrictions as far as the game taken.

Aim for the exit point... short and simple. Imagine the true flight of the arrow going throught the entire deer. Did you hit the shoulder, or maybe exit the chest only clipping the entrance lung???...
