Default How early?

How early are you in the stand in the mornings? Hour before dark? half hour?

Sunrise is 8:06 and its 35 degrees right now!! sometimes I wake up nice and early anticipating a good morning hunt, sometimes I wake up late!

So sunrise being 8:06 what time are you walking in the woods to your stand? (include walk in time, travel time if youd like)

thanks

Unless it is some sort of set up where deer would be right on top of me in the dark but nearing daylight and I want to be waiting, I don't sit in stand in the dark for very long. 20 minutes TOPS. Now, that doesn't mean I don't reach my tree pretty early, I use a climber and I'm at my tree probably 45-60 minutes early, but I just take a long time to get ready, so by the time I am all set up, I have about 10-15 minutes before I could see. maybe 15-20 before I could actually shoot.

FYI depending on the rules in your state, you can see to shoot about 1/2 hour BEFORE sunrise.

Well when you figure the deer are getting some during the Rut and your not because your only thinking about the next big buck your going to shoot, 1 hour before sunrise.

Depends of witch stand I am going too.

I like to be their 30 minutes before shooting light if I can.

But I have some stands where I kick up too many deer if walk to them in the dark

So for those I wait until the sun is starting to come up and get to them a little later which has worked just fine
