Our weekend at our place wasn't too bad. I shot a 2 does, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. I saw a couple other does and fawns and a spike. Our camp got 4 deer total so not too bad.

We just build a 15 foot tower stand last year. We built it out of angle iron and just put up a bunch of bracing. Then we built a little hut on top with rubber roofing for the walls. Its pretty nice...

I always take it off. As matt said your bow is unbalanced. I also dont like the idea of bright fletching waving around... Just one more thing on your bow to get in the way and make sound...

I really don't think it is all that bad. It really helped moving it up to the middle of October so it doesn't interfere with the rut. But i think it is a nice hunt especially for gun hunters... gives...

I finally get to get out this weekend after not hunting since opening day in WI.... but it is doe only and i gotta wear orange.... Hopefully this weather turns around it is just ridiculously warm out.

I think an old, mature deer is extremely difficult to kill. As some others have said they have great instincts. Their senses are very good and they can sense when something is "up." Sure they don't...

When we used to use it we would just dig up a little hole and dump it in there and stir it around.... eventually the hole will just spread out as the deer dig in to it... we used to always have deer...

Moon Phase

I am interested in the moon phase and hunting by the moon. I hear that with a full moon deer move more later in the mornings, earlier in the evenings. So how does the moon affect the way deer travel?

Yeah i got rained out opening morning and decided to sleep in.... went out for the evening hunt and saw a doe and a fork horn off in the distance a little later on.... decent start to the season...
