I will use either a .270 or 30-06. I also use a 30-30 from time to time if i feel like carrying a light gun.

sounds like quite the variety - i am kinda leaning towards the tika stainless/laminate 270 wsm. seems like this would be an excellent gun and i am already very pleased with the tika.

Rem 700 270win Stainless
130gr Hornaday SP

Great deer gun or anything gun. You could put in a 150gr partition and drop an elk or kill anything in north america with a 270 win.

Ive got 5 deer on mine last year and all but 1 buck were retrieved 30yrds from whereI shot em andI flat out made a bad shot on the buck.

I shoot a 270 win now, but I am pretty sure next spring I will trade that off for a Browning X-bolt 270 WSM. My brother just got one and it is SWEET!

7mm is pretty close to the 300 Win mag...not really much point in moving to that IMO.

I would suggest 270 or .30-06, both great deer rifles, slight nod to the .30-06 in available grains and versatility.
