What do you gain from shooting the dog? A 200 class buck gonna come out and dance a jig as the dog hits the ground? You lost your hunt if you shoot it or not.

Yep your being winded, they know something is not right, but just can't see what it is so thats why they walk away and not flag. I hate scent lok suits too and don't ever wear mine it just too hot...

I've been just letting them eat me alive. When I get out of the hunting cloths I use Repel MAX 40 DEET. I'm gonna go get a Thermacell tonight if ya'll say it works with little scent.

We had 480 deer counted in one night on a 7000 acre ranch, we got 36 does tags. We were turned down for level 2 (thats doe and spike)

One other thing that flagged me to this post is, we have not had a night with temps under 60 degrees here in East Texas this year. The woods are thick and green, and no leaves have fallen yet.

I've been known to hunt both ways stalk and sit. BUT to stalk hunt a 100 acres with more then 3 hunters on it. Little close for comfort for me.

I hunt Smith County every year during muzzleloader season. This was the worst hunt in years. It was hot, but I saw some good deer. Saw ALOT of nice mulies.
