Default deer movement

I can't figure the deer movement--
I hunt public ground--19 miles long, and 1/2 mile wide.
Along the mighty Mississippi river.
The crops are all gone and all I see is nite time tracks--huge tracks..
I see no does at all and when I see a deer it is allways A small 4 or 6 pointer...
This is swampy terrian and flat.
Run's south to north..
I can only find edge scraps and very few rubs..
however the farmer neighbor has constantly seen monster bucks coming and going after dark...
any thoughts on setups?????

Default RE: deer movement

Look for cover or hope for a strong rutting buck to crash the open cut crop field. Big bucks get big because they stay away form clearings in the daylight. Public land is even harder because the slightest pressure will drive a good buck deeper in the woods. My Dad always told me if getting a record buck was easy everybody would have one. I know this doesn't help you get your buck.
