ballistic tips is the way to go. I did shoot 2 coyote today with JHPs, both head shots, nothing left. I shot one with a soft point once and it never moved after getting hit. Its not so much bullet...

Whats everyone's favorite .17HMR brand. Mine is split 50/50 between Hornady and Federal.

Now i know their all virtually the same but everyone has a preference in some respect.

I say don't go bigger than 16X, past that is somewhat ridiculos for a .17HMR. I think 12X would be perfect. Objective size is up to your own preference.
