The largest Kingfish ever caught off a pier was here in Jax Beach. It was 63 pounds. Funny thing is the "worlds largest kingfish competition" is in Jacksonville, and we catch larger fish off the pier...

We have red drum up to 53 lbs., black drum up to 75 lbs., large spanish mackeral, and huge sheephead hitting at our pier! The whiting are normal size and the pompano are hitting 30 miles...

What is a mudhook? It is a weight similar in appearance to a sputnik that we use when kingfishing from our pier.

No. Once mercury has entered the flesh it never does get out. It is sort of "stuck". If I remember correctly, the mercury actually is stuck in the liver of the fish which is where the fat is also...

Yeah, Cape Canaveral gives it a mighty shove way out into the Atlantic. What gave the Cape its shape is the north current, and the south current. It bends them both out to sea.

They just got here because the gulf stream is about 100 miles out, and it takes our water a little longer to warm up because of the south current.
