But is it to little for the boatif not how fast is it gonna push it?????? I have heard that a 130 is about like a 150 is this true ????

It was like 20 years ago when they changed the way horsepower was measured. So I would say the 130 will be just that, 130. It will take you a little longer for your hole shot, and your top seep will be reduced about 30%. In easier terms to understand, if your top speed was 65 it will be reduced to 45 MPH. If your hole shot was 300 yards long, it will now be almost 400 yards long, depending on the pitch of the prop.

I think it will still push you right along alright, and your boat should handle it just fine. I also believe you will notice it to run a little quiter as well. As most Honda motors are 4 stroke, and because your boat maybe rated for the 175 I believe that is the maxium rating for it. Sure you will lose speed by dropping down as with any motor when you go lighter in horsepower would. For as far as stability you will do pretty good as well so it is more of a personal matter on how fast you want to go. Good luck on what you decide to go with.

go to Bassboatcentral.com and try to locate a used motor, you have a bunch of options, you can also buy a remanufactured powerhead from several shops, like i mentioned check on BBC.

as for the 4 stroke 130, i have a friend that his brother has a 17.5 bumblebee with a 140hp 4 stroke and he loves his, he said the fuel usage was cut by 2/3's. as for the speed if you need/want it stay with max HP rating

BTW, you can probably sell you damaged powerhead/parts,
and by all means don't just give your lower unit away
