I think you're going to be limited by that Ruger barrel. When top quality factory barrels are the topic of discussion, Ruger is seldom mentioned.

Exactly. Don't know what I thought I'd accomplish trying the E-Tips. It seems to me these solid copper bullets just don't work wellwithout some way of reducing the bearing surface like Barnes did...

Try the 168gr Barnes TSX. I've used the TSX in 4 rifles and they've all shot really well. So far in the .300 WM I've only tried it with one powder, RL22, and I'm getting 3/4" groups.
