Remington Model 798 in 458 Winchester Magnum
Or a Desert Eagle 50 Action Express
Maybe a used Weatherby
Even a Savage and a 44 Special

My choices would fill Rome!!!

RE: MN. hunters, will a .270 or .280 work OK in the brushy type woods of North MN?

Your RemPump is sweet!!!!

HD Road King
I have never been to Minnesota but if it is as thick as what I usually hunt in Kentucky then the"50/150" zero is a must.

RE: Suggestions on caliber for youth?

Both calibers great for deer and stuff. But I recommend to think about getting him a 30-06 and a small start in reloading. The reloader can easilyreduce the 30-06to next to nothing and charged up...

RE: Deer hounds

You got a good looking dog there. :)
Never needed ambush points either. You just can not compare the speed of a True Deerhound to any other "hound".
I don'tlike the jump in truck method either,...

RE: Who Makes the Best .22 round for an auto-loader?

You can not compare the two. Just go buy a box and see for yourself. The Stinger holds a smaller bullet but has alengthened case which makes impressive power for a 22lr.
I have shot the Velocitors...

RE: need advice on keeping cows away

Free roaming deer have no problem with livestock fences.
Electric fencing works good. Try using ratchets to get your barbed-wire at the proper tension. Wooden fencing is best but is very costly.

RE: Who Makes the Best .22 round for an auto-loader?

I have always liked CCI Mini-Mags and Remington Target. I got a 10/22 that loves CCI Stingers but a lot of guns don't.I would at least trya box ofStingers to see if your groups are consistent or not.

RE: caliber advice for big game

I would rather have a 308 and 30-06 combination myself. If you are set on the 7mm combo I would go for the 7-08 and 280. I am not a fan of magnums myself, aside from the 44remmag. A reloader can do...
