Anyone use peanut butter?
Hi all!
Has anyone had any luck using peanut butter to attract deer? My buddy just got one. He smeared peanut butter on a tree trunk. Now we need to figure out if it was the peanut butter or just a coincidence.
Anyone?

I remember anumber ofyears ago seeing a product that was marketed as an attractant for deer that claimed to posses a peanut butter smell. The shape resembled a large disc that you placed on a long wood stake that you would position in the ground. Never used them, never thought much about them until reading your post.

In NJ baiting is allowed.Someone else said deer love unswetened grapekoolaid.
I'm stuck here in S Florida. Didn't hunt here. Dont have a clue where to hunt here. The thought of hunting in this heat also doesn't help.
My buddy in NJ got the buck. He's kind of dumb, good guy, but kind of dumb. We always joke around with him. I'm the one who told him to use peanut butter as a joke. Hahaha! Looks like the joke is on me!
I'm making up a batch of peanut butter stuff to send to theranch in Ohio so I can watch on the camera to see what the deer do.
They have hay and corn now. Doesn't appear that they preferone over the other.

Yes Peanut Butter works. Just nail the jar to a tree with a polebarn nail. I have also had good luck mixing salt, almost any extract, and water and dumping on fallen dead tree or old stump. Nutty, fruity, and mintysmellingextracts all work.
