I've been looking at these also. They're not much more than a Sako Finnlight (just can't get used to the look of this stock). Doesthe AWR stock have a cheekpiece similar to the 700?

I hunted the rut in Alberta with Smokey River Outfitters 2 years ago. Nice people and great accomodations. Shot a 5x6 after missing a 350 class bull earlier in the day.

The hunt is booked for 11/9-11/16 but the date can be changed if need be. It's a rifle hunt. You will have to apply for a tag in January. I paid $4500.00 for the hunt butwould like to get $4000.00...

Hunt sells for $5000.00. I'd take $4000.00. You will need to get in the January draw for a tag. The outfitter will assist you with that. Let me know if you're interested.

I have a 700 LS stainless in 7 mag that I installed a B&C synthetic stock on. Just had the action bedded and it's one acccurate rifle. It's a little heavy but the weight makes it a pleasure to shoot....

My son just shot his first deer - a 375 lb. red stag. One shot through the shoulder at 130 yds. with his 25-06. Dropped in his tracks. I'm a believer in the 25.

How difficult is it to remove an action and barrel that has been epoxy bedded to a synthetic stock? Not sure what they used for a bedding compound....it is blue.

I'm with wolf killer. My Ruger 77/17 is the most accurate rifle I've ever owned. It'll put three shots in a"ragged hole" at 50 yds. Little more money than the others but is certainly worth it.

Clean barrel/dirty barrel

How many of you have rifles that seem to group better with a dirty barrel and can someone explain why. I have a Ruger model77 in 17 hmr and a Remington 700 in 7mm magnum that shoot better groups...

Going on my first moose hunt this fall. Need to choose between my 7 mag (using 160 gr. core lock ultras) or my 35 Whelen (225 grain trophy bonded bear claw). What do you think?
