I like the NEF in that caliber as well. Its not legal for deer in our state but its a fun gun to shoot. Its best for reloaders as the factory ammo is not cheap.

I wish there were more option for the 22 hornet. I looked at the CZ and the ruger, but they were expensive and look and feel and just as big a regular deer rifle. I wish they made all the small caliber guns in the Hornet.I would have loved a lever .22 hornet.

I miss the ugly little 340 Savage which was a cheap but very good shooting rifle which was chambered in 22 Hornet and 30-30 and I think 222. Maybe a few other calibers as well.

Maybe Marlin will chamber it sometime.

I have a Browning Micro Hunter in 22 hornet. I got it on recommedation from a fellow fox hunter. I have a bushnell 5-15X40 firefly scope on it. This gun shoots much better than I do. I can shoot a three shot group that is under .5". I have shot groups that have all three touching. My gun really likes the Hornady 35 gr V-Max bullets. These guns can be hard to find sometimes.

Its a forgotten round. and it puts the new .17's to shame.
I dont know why it not more popular, better than the .22 mag of course and not quite so big as the .222 or .223.
its the perfect gun between the .22LR and your regular varmint gun. hell of a coon and fox, or turkey gun.
A pefrect gun cabinet would be the
.22 LR
.22 hornet
.243 he he.
30-06
.338.
and a shotgun.
this is all a hunter needs.

the ruger 77/22 hornet isn't the same size as a full size deer rifle , it may cost as much . but isn't as heavy either .
