Venison burgers

The ground venison I have seems to be too lean to make a decent burger out of (meat falls apart). Outside of adding fat is there anything I can add to try and get the burger to stick better?

RE: Walleye Rigs

What time of day are you fishing? Right now there is plenty of bait fish for the walleyes to feast on so it can be very difficult to get them to bite. Prime time hours (sunrise and sunset) are still...

RE: Anyone ice fishing yet?

Great buy on the Vex for $125! I got out last weekend and caught a bunch of walleyes but all were pretty small. There was about 4-5" of ice in most areas. We've had really cold weather but do to an...

RE: Ice thickness?

The DNR usually says 4" for walking
6-7" for Snowmobile or ATV travel
12+" for small vehicles

Many people will go out with 2.5" of ice but I usually wait for the 4" mark. Just remember that...

RE: Bird Flu

Doesn't sound like we have anything to worry about this year but we'll have to see what happens by next season. If it is as bad as the news makes it out to be then I think the govt. would be shutting...

RE: Shot Size?

If you are hunting flooded timber then you probably won't have too many passing shots and most should (hopefully) be decoying shots. I would start out with 2 shot and if the birds are decoying close...

RE: 2005-2006: Liberal Season for all flyways

Never heard of the point system before but it sure sounds interesting. Do you get so many points toward your daily limit? That would sure protect hens.

RE: Mono or Flourocarbon line

Depends on your fishing situations. Flourocarbon line sinks so it makes it very difficult to bobber fish with. I use it as leader line and stick to mono in most cases. I do have some P-Line...

RE: Hunting on water from shore???

Never had much luck getting geese to swim in that have landed long. We usually just try to kick them out of the slough incase some more come and try to pull them into the spread.
