Shotgunners! How many of you wear ear protection while hunting?
I ask because this little 16 gauge single shot I'm now forced to hunt with really rang my bell a couple of times on my last hunt. I had meant to bring some cotton for some extra ear protection but forgot.
The hearing in my right ear (I'm left handed) has suffered over the years and I'm sure some of it can be traced to shotgunning without proper ear protection. I suppose I should start before I'm totally deaf.
How many of you wear ear protection? If you do, what measures do you take?

Never did as a kid and then started to when I got older-it is a wise thing to do as I haven't lost any more hearing but did lose about 25% when I was young.

I always do now when I shoot trap but never hunting. I suppose I should but the sounds as well as the sights are part of the outdoor experience that I enjoy when hunting.

I am with most of the others that have posted I do when target shooting but not when hunting, I would like to get some walker's game ears or a like device but as we all know that takes $$.

I agree with Pike and the other threads. It's important when shooting targets but would be a handicap in the field. Gotta be able to hear wings taking flight and/or be able to hear to know where the dogs (beepers or crashing through the grass/weeds) are.
