I use the steel force beyond bond myself and it is the only glue I'll use on my Gold Tips. Make sure your getting your shafts good and clean this can cause a problem.

Go to Home Depot and get some 5/8" ID vinyl tubing and put it over your chains. Then make the holes for you quick clip pins. I did this last year with my stand and it worked great.
