i smoked two does with them after few years back. I typically shoot rocket sidewinders but couldn't find any mid season. Bought the steelheads instead and they did the job with nice blood trails each...

nice bird! I was out out in 3 different areas around Irwin on the opener and did not hear a peep or a shot. Hunted up in harrisionville(harission something), and two spots in rillton....

buy a savage .17 hmr. You will not be disappointed. I got my heavy barrell savage for 185 and bought a bushnell 6-18x scope from walmart for 130. Added a harris sitting bipod and it is a groundhog...

the ballistics of a .17 are much better than a .22 mag. Do so research and you will see that a .17 will shoot circles around a .22 anyday.....

a few weekends ago, I hit a groundhog at 250+ yards with my .17hmr. Blood everywhere but he made it down in his hole. I would much have rather had my ruger .22-250 but wanted the .17 to get its first...

I have killed groundhogs at 220 and 180 yards with my roommates savage .17hmr. I loved the gun so much that I went out and bought one for myself:D I am going to try for some groundhogs this weekend....

my roommate had a savage .17 and he had a 6-18x bushnell that he got from walmart for $100. This scope is great for a .17. I used it more than he did and I killed a number of grounds out to 212 yards...

i am lucky....i have permission to hunt grounds that hardly get any pressure. The deer are starting to get into little and bigs herds. I saw 18 deer all in one area of the woods including a nice 8-10...
