He's probably not shooting with the correct eye. Find out which eye is dominant and that will dictate which havd he shoots with. If you aren't shooting with your dominat eye, you will see two targets...

I like the one, "don't shoot at a deer thats closer to you than your stand is high" this makes alot of sense. It makes sure your have decent angles. I think this would be good advice for a begginner....
