Semi-Auto 12ga.....Options For Turkey Hunting
What I'm looking for is a semi-auto 12ga., 3.5" chamber, this shotgun will be used for turkey hunting only, I would love to have a Browning or Winchester SX3 but I can't see spending that amount of money of a gun that I will use a few times a year. I was thinking of a Remington 11-87 magnum, Mossberg 935, or something along those lines, I will also see what is for sale on the used gun rack. Please add make/model I should look at that is within the lines of the 11-87 & 935

Checkout the Stoegers. They are inertia guns and seem to be well made and a really good value. I shot trap with the 3500 and the 3000 recently and would have no problem buying either. Benelli owns Stoeger so I'm pretty sure they are very similar if not identical recoil systems.

+1 but like the 3500 model (biggest bang for your buck IMO)

Just got back from Cabelas. Used turkey guns, they had three that caught my eye, but the prices for them as used was more then I thought. Mossberg 935 camo $550, two Winchester's SX3 both camo, one was $900, the other was $1100. Out of the three they didn't have any new ones in stock, they did have on sale a Remington 11-87 Super Mag all black but the last one was sold.
Are used guns at Cabelas negotiable?

I know you're wanting a 3 1/2" 12 ga semi-auto for turkey hunting as you stated. I carried a 12 ga 3 1/2" for years for turkey but now only use it for waterfowl. For the past 3 years I've carried a 20 ga (3" chamber) Remmy 870 youth model. I topped it with a Cabelas multi-reticle scope. With #5 Winchester ammo it is deadly on turkey out to 30 yds with an extra full choke. And this is a joy to carry (almost like carrying a BB gun).
Have you considered looking at the Benellis. They make a few excellent semis in 3 1/2".

Been using for roughly 15 yrs my Mossberg 835 shooting 3.5" HeviShot 13 or Winchester Sup. HV in either #5 or #6
I'm getting my 20ga. Mossberg 500 camo dipped, got the choke for it, and ammo.
Benellis are excellent but they are expensive as well.
