Default Help, gun safe starting to smell, gunpowder!

The last 2 months I have purchased 8 new guns, been shooting alot. I have about 16 guns in the safe. Generally I've been cleaning them after each use but now when I open the gun safe..... wow, stinks like gunpowder!

Is there any tricks and products that will absorb/cover this smell?

Thanks!

I don't think it's dangerous if the guns have been cleaned. I suppose you could hang up a "stick up" or whatever you call those deodorizer thing-eeez. But then your case would smell like flowers ... or a spring rain ... or cucumber melon ... whatever they advertise. I think I'd prefer the gunpowder smell or good ole #9.

Are you cleaning off the bolt face and all parts? Or just the bores?

I love the smell of gunpowder in the morning! Why do you want to get rid of it?

Right now most of them just the bores...... I might be smelling the cleaners... Hoppes and some other one I'm using.

Going to to try a box of baking soda.

Thanks!!

Have you got a black powder gun in the safe? The sulpher smell can be hard to get off.

Do you really not like the smell of gun powder? If that was perfume option for women I don't think I could stay married...

I think you might be on to something with the baking soda idea.

My partners and I have discussed this smell issue before and have come to the conclusion that if we could produce a cologne that smells like tires roasting at the race track and then the smell of burnt gunpowder, we would be millionars!!!!!!! Not to mention the smell of cooking deer/elk steak, and fried mushrooms in butter!!!!!
I already wear my deer hunting hat that smells like dirt from the HS Specialities wafers during the off season to hold me over!!!!
