This has really helped. I whoa him when another dog points and now he is starting to back without being whoa'ed.
The more he hunts the better...

I know I have read that several years ago Ky took measures to reastablish / improve the deer herd. They transplanted deer into areas.
One thing that in my opinion that has greatly helped Ky deer...

I dont ever recall seeing a daily total posted by the State of Illinois, Just season totals.
And generally these are about a week after each season

The difference in Illinois and Iowa is atleast Iowa limits non resident tags.. Yeah Iowa has fees but at least they are conserving the herd. Illinois simply wants the cash. The state could care less...

In Illinois it isnt about the quality of the deer herd or quality of hunting. They only see it as making money.

Then have the task of helping another drag that 130 out cause he didnt let him walk....

One of the worst things Illinois did was do away with check stations and have hunters just call in or go on line to reprt harvest.
Too many guys dont do it or report bucks as a doe so...

I would check with the landowner to be sure no one else may have gained permission . I have known guys loose access to property who thought they were the only ones...
