Actually the guys probably reported him, and complained to the MODS and thats why he's gone, but again I don't know and really don't care.

I also have a suggestion for H&R and NEF, that would be cool if they chambered their Handi Rifles in .338 Federal, I think it would be better than the next best thing they offer, (the .35 Whelen.)...

I have found HOWA to build quality rifles ,(theymake The Vangurad) and have had good results with mine, as it actually shot like a Vanguard as well. I will own another HOWA.

You can, but beware as the Pumpkins will really foul up the rifles in the bore. I suggest just sticking with sabots, since that is really what the rifles barrel is designed for.

Actually I have heard of significant Throat Erosion at well under 100 RDS with the 30-378. I would say that for the intended purposes the .300 RUM would be a better choice, because the barrel life...

I can actually agree with younggun on this one, the actions on Savage rifles are a little stiff, but after you have fired about 20 rounds through the rifle you don't notice it anymore.

CR-10 is what I use, I use to not use copper remover, but boy does it help accuracy, and it makes your barrel a lot cleaner.

Yes get it, I bought one in .300 Win Mag back in March and have not been disappointed, the scope is clear and has held up quite nicely, the gun is also accurate, as is all Savages I've owned....

I just don't like the "Federal" after .338, sure I like Federal Ammo as it is my prefered factory ammo for several of my rifles. But It would be more appealing if it was like .338 Remington, or .338...

I have many times come across the same oddity, where I live, the Wal Mart might keep 2 to 3 boxes of .223 ammo while at the same time they regulary keep over 10 boxes of 223 wssm in stock, I guess...

We practice because we love the sport and will take advantage of any oppurtunity to get out and enjoy the sport, obviously you don't love the sport, and just use a gun as a tool to hunt with.

Stubble you bring up a very good point, the .300 Ultra can be had in a more affordable rifle as well, if I was going to get a .300 Ultra I would get the Remington 700 SPS.

You might want to try the .300 or .338 Winchester Magnum, as the ammo is not as hard to find and it is a lot less expensive.

Yes I have chronographed my M 111 Savage in .300 Win mag with a 24" barrel and I used Federal PowerShok ammo and the velocity was as stated on the ammo's box. 180 Gr at 2960.
