I would skip both of those and go with a set of Burris Signature rings. You can get them for a Leupold base or for a Weaver style base. I prefer the Weaver style base, but either will work.

The Burris FFII is the best bet in that price range imo. I've used many of the popular scopes in that price range, and the FFII is by far the best. The next step up would be a Zeiss Conquest imo.
