RE: Interesting from Leupold website

With the advent of QD rings more and more people will buy one really good scope to use across many rifles and this seems like a good method to zero it back.

RE: Scope too Close to barrel?

bc, I've used a thin layer of clay and that will let you know if it's hitting without any permanent markings on the rifle or scope after you've finished. Hope this helps.

RE: Finally in: Savage Arms 12FVSS in .270WSM

Absolutely! I'd like to see where the money went and if it was worth it. I plan on shooting 140 grain Accubonds and primarily FailSafes as my all-around solution to hunting whatever is on the menu. I...

RE: Finally in: Savage Arms 12FVSS in .270WSM

Didn't change my mind due to that. I just couldn't find one at a reasonable price, and I decided I would prefer a heavier rifle though I lost the detachable magazine as a trade-off for availability...

I second those sentiments and facts, they are useless. I have wondered in the past why WalMart sells shotguns and rifles but not handguns, weird.

RE: The "NEW" Savage/Stevens Model 200?

That's right, no Accu-Trigger, but they should be good especially in the price range. I don't think they offer as many choices in stocks and they're only blued, if I recall.

RE: 270wsm or 270win?

I'm a big supporter of the WSM's. Especially in the heavier bullets (150 grain) the WSM has a marked advantage, since you want to be able to go after larger game than deer it's a consideration.

RE: Bolt Action Advice

Savage has WSM offerings in their lineup. I too was a bit wary of recoil, so I got a fairly heavy rifle, the 12FVSS for this reason. I go to the gym often and am in fairly good shape so I don't mind...

I don't care if it's ugly, if it works I'm in. I just got a Savage due to the same requirements, I wanted a rifle that shoots well, I don't care about the barrel nut.

RE: looking for 270 for first deer gun

RE: looking for 270 for first deer gun
