I threw a tikka t3 clip on the floor. I can not see one breaking
unless you stomped on it. Under normal wear and tear conditions, - you shouldn't have a problem.

I believe the quality of the scope is as important as the power.
I also believe a 3-9 x42 is sufficient in any situation. Most hunting scopes
max out at 9 because you can still hold it steady...
