I just picked up a pair of Sightron SIII 8x42 binos 240 bucks Ebay. Phase corrected prisms fully coated blah blah blah. I have a pair of Leica 8x42 Trinovids...Yes the Leicas are built like a tank and are substantially heavier because of their construction. Awesome glasses but they are not worth 600 dollars more then these.
