I just came back from the range. Not the best conditions. Rainy, windy and someone stole all the sandbags![:@] I shot factory Winchester Super-X 150 grain power points. At 100 yards, the groups averaged
2 to 2 1/4 inches on paper. But as soon as I dropped the crosshairs on the 300 yard pig silohuettes, they fell over!
Who da thunk it? I was only using a fixed 3 power weaver scope, and make-shift bags. Also I haven't really had a good shooting seesion for some months now. I know I shouldn't try to make excuses, because I'm sure the rifle will do better than this on paper. I will try some good handloads, on a better day. Maybe with a little stronger scope, just to see how it does. How are the groups out of anybody elses 99's? What are you using for loads? Have a good night.

Sorry JagMag, don't mean to rub salt. I do quite like this rifle. And if you talk to anyone I know, they will tell you I go through guns like water. But this time, I think I found a rifle that suits me. I would highly recommend one of these little beauties. Their handsome, handy, and hopefully, will shoot straight.

pharaoh2, I have found the 99 to be particular about what they will shoot well.I did a lot of load testing before I got a couple of good loads for both of mine. My 250 will shoot the 85 gr bt with H380 handload and the 100 gr winchester silvertip factory load into 1 moa and my 284 will shoot the 139gr hornady into 1 moa while the 154 gr hornady round nose into 1 1/4 inches using H4350

besides, I couldn't wait.
