Bullets and arrows!
Seriously, field glasses and odor control!
Lots of other things can be considered a "must have" though. For example, if you ain't dressed right for the cold or rain, you ain't hunting for long!

Your brain is the single most important tool that you bring to the woods , without it all other gear is useless . Adequate clothing comes a close second .

The other comments are right on the money but without reading too much into your question I would probably say a treestand....if we are talking about whitetails that is.

For archery hunting - probably treestand is the next piece of gear i'd choose after my weapon.

For rifle hunting - probably appropriate clothing. Our rifle season is in december and in PA that can mean snow, rain, hail, freezing temps or the occasional season where it remains in the 50's.

Second - Binoculars
And the most important tool after
the hunt - knife
Second to my gun this is where I spent the most.
There's my two cents - thats all I have left.
cheers

Other then the obvious I would have to say my GPS. I’ve never been a big fan of odor control and have always tried to use the wind to my favor.
