I like the federal PF loads in 5 shot for pheasants. They are 1500fps and really seem to hit hard and have a long range. I don't really hunt any of the smaller game too much, so I can't help you...

I hunt in Iowa. You can hunt the ditches, but if it is within 200 yards of an inhabited building (human or animal) you have to get permission. Is not not legal to hunt ditches at all in KY?
