What would you suggest for a hunter that primarily hunts pheasant and turkey, but may get into anything(ducks, geese, deer) in the future. Is the SBEII worth the extra $ for 31/2 capabilities and the steel action? Let me know you thoughts and reviews on these two. Thanks

They are similar in the way the feel and fit. They use many of the same parts like the forearm, stock, mag tube, etc.. Trigger groups, receivers, ribs, and chambers are different. The M2 is a tad bit lighter and shorter than the SBE II. The M2 will more than likely cycle the lighter loads better. The SBE's are more geared towards waterfowling. The M2 is Benelli's best all around choice.

I just recently picked up a M2. I thought that the feel between the two guns was very different. I've tried all kinds of shells through other guns and I have the opinion that the only gain from 3 1/2" shells is recoil. If you really want a lethal load try the hevi-shot loads. Though they are expensive, I think they're worth the additional cost.
