I am going to be going on my first turkey hunt this spring third season in Iowa. When should I go out and atttempt to locate the turkey's roost, and try to figure out where they are when? When will the Toms typically start to gobble in Eastern Iowa? Thanks for any input!

The gobbleing could start anytime. I've heard talk of them starting up in southern Iowa already. I'd also start your scouting now. Patterns can and will change between now and 3rd season, but it will give you some ideas. I hunt 1st and 4th seasons in Iowa, alot of that is in eastern Iowa like you mentioned. Be prepared to bundle up or sweat your a$$ off. Good luck drop a line if you have any other questions. Not saying my advice will be right, but it is free.
