Whats the best way too go about hunting public land?

In my area there is a ton of stateland that gets hunted hard for rifle but not for bowhunting season. I am pretty new too hunting with a bow and I hunt private land for rifle that I cannot hunt for...

I have a blackhawk and a bisely vasquero in 357 and 45lc and they are awesome. Ive never owned and shot a pistol that felt so good as rugers single action revolvers do. They are awesome.

I am a lever lover and I was thinking about doing something diffrent next year. I usually use a scoped 35 in the stand and a 30-30 in the brush, but I was thinking of going too a Marlins Cowboy 45...

well he wasnt poaching for racks because the two deer were fawns! Yes, its still wrong, but dont assume everyone is looking for trophies. In his case, I think it was the thrill.

Is a 22-250 strictly a varmint gun?

I had someone try and tell me they hunt whitetails with this gun. He was a little in the bag so I dont know if he was serious. Isnt the 22-250 just for varmints?

Whats the best time too get into my stand after 2:00pm?

I work until 2:00 in the afternoon. What time should I go get into my blind or stand? Closer too sunset or anytime after 2:00? I was thinking 2:00 might be too early but maybe not.

u left out the 32 special. i own three levers, a 30-30,32 special and a 35. I would have too say the 35 is my favorite. Next on my list will be a 44 mag lever action though.
