Default Ground Blind Success?

First off, I have been a dedicated treestand hunter for the better part of 15 years now. With that said, I am intrigued with the many commercial blinds that have hit the market over the past few years. I thought about purchasing one about three years ago and every season since, only to talk myself out of it. Or was it my hunting buddies talking me out of it? Not sure. Anyway, I picked one up last month and I' m going to use it this season. I' m sure there are downsides to the blind as my buds are quick to point out. Limited vision, potential scent problem, etc. But what about the upside? I know a bunch of places that look like terrific spots that there is no way you could hunt out of a stand. Yeah, I may be able to place a stand close by, but not " at" the spot. Know what I mean. Bottom line...My pals think I am limiting myself. And me, I think I am being flexible and adapting to the situation. Sometimes I think we tend to get to too ridgid in the way we hunt and are not willing to try different things. What do you think? Any success stories? Thanks to all...Hope I' m not covering old ground. If so, please excuse. I haven' t been on the BBS for a long time.

Jimimac, send for the Double Bull tape on hunting
out of a ground blind!I just got the #4 edition and
after watching that you cant decide all I can say
is I am on my fourth season with a ground blind
not a Double Bull by the way,Like the Ameristep
better, just my opinion, but try the Outhouse or the
Round House from Ameristep very economial and
easy to use!!!

i got a cheap game tracker this spring for turkeys, it worked well but this fall i had been waching this 8pnt come into this feild everynight without ever going within range of a tree so i put that blind out in the middle of the alfalfa feild and let it sit a few days. my second night in there i filled my tag. never would have been able to do it without a ground blind.

Coyote 170, I just ordered the ameristep brickhouse blind. I have been looking at them for some time now and finally decided on this model. I plan on hunting strictly from the ground this year. Hope it works out.

well I hunted out of one today for the first time and It was comfortable and I felt u could move around a little bit more and not be seen or heard and it kept me out of the wind.

Well, I had a deer come out in front of me after only being in it a short time but I missed it due too never shooting out of a blind before. I didnt have the window down far enough and I shot right through it. Rookie mistake, I felt since I looked through the site and had the deer dead too rights that the arrow would clear, boy was I wrong. Practice and remember too have the window down far enough.

I ended up buying an Ameristep Doghouse. Price wise it was a good buy and I liked the idea of the blacked out interior. It came with it' s own little backpack and should be a snap to set up and take down. Another reason I got it was so I could take my two and a half year old son out with me some evenings. I really don' t expect much to happen with him along because of all the things that two year olds like to do...but you never know.
